men like candles too
In a world where candles are often associated with femininity and romantic ambience, it’s time we shed light on the often overlooked relationship between men and candles.
I see it at every single market. Men want to approach the candles and test them but seem to hesitate, almost asking for permission to try the candles. I see them gaze at the table and often require explicit invitation to test the candles for themselves. Once they come to the booth, I also see them have very clear opinions on what candle scents they like (or don’t).
Men from all walks of life have started to openly embrace the beauty and tranquil energy that candles bring into their lives. Whether it be in the sanctity of their homes, their favourite meditation spaces, or even their offices, candles have found a place within the lives of modern men.
For some, candles represent a retreat from the chaotic world outside. They serve as a visual reminder to slow down, take a deep breath, and find solace in simplicity. Men, just like women, value moments of peaceful self-reflection. By incorporating candles into their daily routines, men are able to create personal oases in which they can reconnect with their own thoughts, recharge their weary souls, and engage in self-care.
Candles provide a gateway to explore various scents and their effects on mood and well-being. From “masculine” scents like sandalwood and cedar (sunshower , sunny days , tennessee and wild ) to fresh herbal fragrances ( strength), men can curate atmospheres that resonate with their unique tastes and preferences. The flickering flame, the crackle of our wood wicks and soothing fragrances awaken a sense of mindfulness, allowing men to ground themselves in the present moment and find respite from the demands of a fast-paced world.
Beyond the personal benefits, candles can also enhance social experiences for men. Just as they light up rooms, candles have the power to ignite conversations and create intimate settings for gatherings among friends. Sharing the ambience of a candle-lit evening can foster connections and facilitate deeper conversations. Men gather around, laugh, share stories, and appreciate the simple pleasure of basking in the warm glow that candles exude.
